Hi, there petrol heads, Rev’s back in the house.

Well, the weather back in the UK has really put a dampener on travel plans, but not to worry. There’s always another time. I was thinking of heading over to Abu Dhabi toward the end of the month for the Red Bull Air Races which would have been pretty sweet.

That got me thinking of the top Red Bull events around the globe. Wherever there are thrills, spills and danger Red Bull never seems to be far away. I have compiled a list, and if you are wondering, motorsport such as F1 will notbe found here. I am not sure if they all still exist yet they are worth a mention, and it shows Red Bull has their fingers in many pies.

Red Bull BC One

Well everyone knows breakdancing has gone to group dances, yet Red Bull wanted to get back to the roots. With 16 competitors going head to head in NYC, this is how it all started. So if you think you have the skills to take it to the dance floor, find out if it is still being held and put your name down.

Cliff Diving

These are some crazy dudes. Pick the highest cliff you can find in the most exotic of locations and hurl yourself off into the ocean that you hope is going to be deep enough. I tried my hardest to get the dates for 2018, but to no avail, I couldn’t find them. At least it is still on so if you are pretty good at this sort of thing, you could be in with a chance.

Red Bull Crashed Ice

Being held in January the 19th-20th this year in Saint Paul, Minnesota for a record 6th year.

This is one for the toughest and roughest skaters on the planet. Create a 1,600 ft track that drops a height of 12 stories over its length. This makes for some fast and frantic action. So if you want to be one of the 120,000 crowd that attend every year, you better be quick.

Red Bull Rampage

I have mentioned the air race so no need to go over it again, this one is a little more breathtaking than watching a plane hurtle around at 230mph. What started way back when in 2001 it carried on until 2004. It made a comeback and is still with us to this day. In 2017 it was held in Utah so maybe this year will be the same again. Anyway. Get a bunch of guys on mountain bikes and send them off down the side of a mountain. The finish is a good 1500ft below, and now they have tricks to do on the way down to make their run that extra specialAs if dropping over a 35ft ft.Cliffwas notunique enough.

Rev is hanging up his Red Bull for the evening, catch you next time.

Hi there petrol heads come travelers Rev welcomes you into 2018 with a mighty roar from a V8 engine.

Well I was looking at what to write about as it’s really cold back home here in the UK, and I see from the news it’s much the same on the East coast of the good ole US of A. I hope no one points their fingers at car lovers and blames them specifically for global warming.

Anyway. I was checking what was going on around the world that anyone with a love of motor vehicles would be interested in and noticed the extreme sports expo in Dubai. What can I say, you have a city well known for their love of going way over the top as you can see from some of their buildings.

I wish I had chance to go yet travel from the UK isn’t the easiest with all this cold weather going on. Anyway there is plenty to whet the appetite of any adrenalin junkie. If you’re into free diving (deep snorkeling for the rest of us) they have the “One breath expo” which has been going on for the past four years and includes spear fishing. Underwater target shooting, I wonder how you get to watch that?

For petrol lovers who like 2 wheels they have the Dubai Motorbike Festival which is a celebration into anything on two wheels which is more my thing than swimming. They have a stunt battle which could be fun to watch and I think there might be one or two back flips going on if anyone is up to the challenge. I am not sure if Travis Pastrana will show his face, and boy do I remember watching him do the double backflip, history in the making.

Apart from that there is the land action village which takes in any sport you can imagine from personal mobility devices, electric skateboards and rally. Put an engine on a set of wheels and who knows what contraptions can be invented.

Anyway enough of that, a quick bit about Dubai. It’s pretty hot and home to the tallest building in the world which is good to watch at New Year. I did notice they broke the Guinness World record for the largest laser show which made a change from all those fireworks they have.

They have plenty of shopping centers, or malls as you might call them and they are packed full of designer gear yet not many people half the time. I suppose there is only so many times you can go shopping. They do have the indoor ski slope which is novel for the middle of the desert and gives you chance to cool down, either that or you can take a visit to the Chillout Ice Lounge which is really different.

I can say I paid a visit when I was there and it was like being back home in the middle of winter. Wrap up warm and enjoy something from their menu. If nothing else it will be something you will never forget.

Well folks time for me to finish and put another log or two on the fire.

Take it easy and watch out for icy patches,

Rev

Top three tourist attractions that you need to see before you die

We always hear about people’s bucket lists, and the places that they want to see and the things they want to do before they die. But, this doesn’t mean that you want to see the same places and want to do the same things as other people. However, these three tourists attractions are the attractions that you need to see before you die. No matter what is on your bucket list:

Great Wall of China

There might not be much of the Great Wall of China left, but this is still the number one place that you should visit before you die.

While you are walking on this wall, you will feel the history and you can see yourself living there, years ago. Many tourists are visiting this wall on a daily basis. And, even if there are some spectacular places on earth to see, most prefer to go see the Great Wall of China. This is still the number one attraction to see, and it will always be the number one place to visit and experience.

Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is situated in Croatia. This is the one place that you should visit if you love water, nature, and spectacular views. Even, those that don’t really like walking through nature will be able to see the wonder that is hidden in Croatia.

This is the number one spot where you can get close to your Maker, and to make sure that you are going relax. And get away from the rush of the world we are living today. There are many people that don’t know that this park in Croatia is such a beautiful place to visit.

Zion National Park, Utah

The Zion National Park that is situated in Utah can’t be explained. If you weren’t there, you will not understand why this is the top three place you should see before you die. There are many great places that you can see, but the Zion National park is completely different and unexplainable. You will not regret making time to see this wonder.

The top three places that you should see before you die. This is the three things that you just should visit, no matter what. Even, if you aren’t really into traveling, you should still consider going to these three places. You will not regret this decision. These three destinations is unique and you will not see anything that are coming close to this beauty and uniqueness.

Intro – Rev

Hi, there all you interneters out there. This is Rev speaking, and that has nothing to do with former profession. I was never a reverend, a priest, a preacher or anything to do with the church apart from visiting the local parish church a few times.

The names Mick but all my mates call me Rev as I am an out and out petrol head, speed freak or whatever you want to call us. Living not far from the heart of motor racing in the UK and retired for a couple of years, not through age I might say. I’m not that old; it was a work injury.

A truck driver by trade I had a load that wasn’t secured correctly (not my fault) it broke its restraints, andunfortunately, I tried to catch it with my leg, and since then I have had a bit of a limp and no longer able to work.

So as not to get disheartened or bored (or bore anyone else) I decided to have a go at this blogging thing.

You might be wondering why and what this has to do with a travel blog? I initially had a plan of doing a motoring blog, yet there are thousands, and my small contribution might get lost along the way.

I came up with a plan of combining both. Travel and motorsport in one form or another. I have visited a few places over the years for specific events, yet I have never seen anyone write about the places these events are held as a regular tourist destination or what it is like without these events deafening the locals with their oversized and overpowered engines.

The idea might work or it might not, and hopefully, I can stir up some interest along the way as there are a few events that not everyone gets to hear about. There are some bizarre and wacky races out there, to say the least. These coupled with some stunning locations make for some great vacations for speed freaks, and it is a shame for everyone else not to know what these places are like.

I’ll try my best not to make all my posts about engines, although I’m making no promises. You know how truck drivers love to ramble on about things especially ones who love the smell of engines and high octane fuel filling the air.

Keep on truckinuntil next time,

Rev.
